Kelly Deis is the President and Founder of Soundpoint Consulting, a firm specializing in business valuations, forensic accounting, expert testimony, and mediation. Her work often supports divorcing couples in reaching equitable financial settlements—a focus informed by her own personal experience with divorce. This lived perspective, enables her to bring clarity, compassion, and fairness to complex financial matters.
With over 25 years of experience, Kelly has advised clients across a wide range of industries on corporate turnarounds and restructuring, exit planning and operations improvement. Her approach integrates strategic insight with rigorous financial analysis helping business leaders and individuals make informed, high-stakes decisions.
Kelly holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. Prior to founding Soundpoint Consulting, she was a Senior Engagement Manager at Deloitte Consulting, where she specialized in corporate turnarounds, and later held senior leadership roles at several Fortune 500 companies.
Beyond her professional life, Kelly enjoys cycling, hiking, travel and reading non-fiction. She is the proud mother of two college-aged sons and lives on Bainbridge Island, just outside Seattle, Washington.
At Cambridge, Kelly aims to explore the intersection of wealth perception, inequality, and well-being. She is particularly interested in how attitudes toward wealth influence social cohesion and community resilience—and how these dynamics might inform a more inclusive and equitable future.
In addition, she is keen to understand the root causes of increasing political polarization—both in the U.S. and globally—and to identify meaningful pathways toward greater empathy, unity, and social resilience.
