Cathy Braithwaite

Cathy is an experienced, positive and dynamic school leader with 27 years of experience working in the education sector, most recently as the former Head of Gresham’s Prep School.

A passionate advocate for academic excellence through character development, she believes in empowering young people to be respectful, responsible, resilient and kind. In her work she embraces meaningful change and seeks innovation, utilising the insight she has gained from a variety of roles across several schools to explore the challenges and opportunities for colleagues across departments.

Cathy is keen to maximise the time and space afforded by the Better Futures Programme to explore the challenges faced in education today and how they might be addressed with specific relevance to preparing future generations to flourish and collaborate as global citizens in the world they will inhabit.

Within this Cathy would like to start by investigating building impactful partnerships between schools and workplaces, the role of technology in shaping the future, acknowledging and celebrating diversity, and supporting young people to engage constructively in sustainability and broad transnational issues given their stage of life.
